Returning to Standard Time
A friendly (and exciting) reminder to turn your clocks back an hour as we return to standard time.
We offer to you, O God, our prayers for those who seek justice and resist evil. We pray for those who need your presence and strength to stand firm; for those who are oppose the use of violence in any form in faithful response to the Prince of Peace. We pray for those are prepared to be firm to protect those in danger. We pray for those who walk with others who need strength. We pray for those who protest, those who organize letter campaigns, those who give sacrificially on behalf of others.
We pray for those who speak the unpopular truth; who protect the unpopular victims; who choose the unpopular path of peace.
We pray for those who do not let their desire for peace hinder the requirements of justice, and for those who do not let their zeal for justice override the call for peace.

November Building Faith @ Home Resource
The Youth and Family Council is excited to provide families with Journey to Christmas, an Advent Devotional. As the Christmas season quickly approaches we are reminded that Advent is a season of preparation for the arrival of Jesus. This month's Building Faith @ Home resource is a collection of Advent readings and activities for your family to explore at home while embracing the season.
Packages will be mailed out in the next few weeks to hopefully arrive in time for the first week of Advent on Sunday, November 27th. If you do not receive the booklet or would like to share the devotional with other family members, please use the link below to download your copy, contact Lynne via email at [email protected] or call the church office at 905-294-4736.
After a two-year pause for in-person services and church school, everyone holds a different level of comfort when out in public. To help you and your family feel comfortable attending on a Sunday morning, here is how we are caring for you.
1. Following the direction of Leading with Care, the church is adhering to the Public Health guidelines set by York Region Public Health. Masks are optional and welcome based on you, and your family's comfort level.
2. Hand sanitizer is available throughout the church building, including the Scott Room, Craft Room, and Nursery.
3. When in church school, children and youth sessions are led by two adults, a leader, and a shepherd. The adults must provide a Vulnerable Sector Check to the Leading with Care team before joining a children or youth ministry team. New Vulnerable Sector Checks are required once expired. We do not allow "declaration of no change" documentation.
4. Adults are considered eligible volunteers once they have actively attended the church for six months or more and have a clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
5. Understanding not everyone is ready to return to church school, activity packs are available at the back of the sanctuary for any children who elect to stay with their parents. Just ask an usher for the package on the back pew.
We are ready to meet with you when you are comfortable returning!
Youth grades 7 and up are invited to a mid-week meeting on Zoom from 7:15 pm to 7:45 pm. This online meeting is an opportunity to let us know how your week is going, play a game, and pray for one another. Simply click the button below and we will look forward to seeing you each Wednesday evening!
On Sunday, November 20th the mitten tree returns to the narthex, ready to receive your waterproof mittens, gloves hats, and scarves for donation to Evangel Hall. This year in addition to purchasing winter items, you may also donate directly to the mitten tree project, and place a mitten ornament created by Cory O'Kopniak on the tree to represent your support. Youth will be in the narthex following the service to receive your donations and warm gifts.
The annual Christmas Bazaar takes place on November 19th from 9 am to 2 pm. Families are invited to attend and shop all of the amazing offerings from handcrafts to baked goods. Additionally, there are a number of volunteer positions available for youth looking to complete their volunteer service hours. Please speak to Rosanne Dumitru for more information.
Our next Youth and Family event is scheduled for Sunday, November 20th following the service. Stay tuned for more information and event details.
After a long hiatus Santa's Corner returns to the fellowship hall on Satuday, November 26th during the Santa Claus Parade. This year the event includes a tree decorating contest where our guests will vote for the best tree. We are in the early planning stages, and look forward to the challenge and showcasing our best to the community. Again volunteer opportunities are available for students.
